When did the iPhone 6 and 6s come out? In what year did the iPhone come out ...: an overview of all iPhones by year. Push me harder

Part 1: design, performance, connectivity, new features

Traditionally, one of the main devices of the year is the new iPhone. This year is no exception. At the September presentation of Apple, the next version of the most popular smartphone became one of the main characters, and more than two weeks after the announcement - on September 25 - the novelty went on sale. As expected, Russia was not among the countries of the first wave. However, this, as before, did not prevent the wealthiest Apple fans from acquiring an iPhone 6s with the help of resellers, but for us to get a gadget for detailed testing (thanks).

Since we told you all the basic information about the iPhone 6s, voiced at the Apple presentation, in the September report, we will not repeat ourselves and immediately move on to a face-to-face acquaintance with the iPhone 6s.

Compared to the iPhone 6, the specifications of the new product look really impressive: the volume has doubled random access memory, the CPU frequency has increased, the camera has improved significantly. But, however, the battery capacity has become lower, and the mass and thickness - a little more.

But a comparison in terms of characteristics with Android competitors is not at all in favor of Apple devices. Here, even the iPhone 6s loses on all fronts (with the exception of perhaps the maximum amount of flash memory). But, as you know, you cannot directly compare iOS and Android devices. So let's move on to testing.

Packaging and equipment

The packaging of the iPhone 6s is traditional for Apple smartphones and practically does not differ from the packaging of the previous generation smartphone. Unless the bright picture on the screen of the depicted smartphone attracts attention.

As for the package, there are no surprises here either: EarPods in a beautiful box, leaflets, Charger(5 V 1 A), Lightning cable, stickers and a key to remove the SIM card cradle.

Design

The appearance of the iPhone 6s has remained virtually unchanged: the frontal surface of the novelty is generally indistinguishable from the iPhone 6, the placement of all controls and connectors is completely identical.

You can tell iPhone 6s from 6 by the letter S written on the back.

However, there is another difference that is easy to notice if you take smartphones one by one in your hand. The iPhone 6s is about 15 grams heavier. Not very much, but really felt.

In addition, the iPhone 6s has become a little thicker (by 0.2 mm), but this is already quite insignificant and imperceptible in real use. Apple says the iPhone 6s uses a new type of aerospace-grade aluminum and even stronger glass. But neither one nor the other, of course, is visible to the eye, and we did not dare to conduct a crash test :)

In general, if you want others to see that you have a new iPhone, you will have to buy the pink version :) As we already said in the report, this new color appeared in addition to the three that existed before (dark gray, silver and gold).

We had a silver version for testing, so we could not personally evaluate the new color.

Safety

Like the previous iPhone, the 6s has two levels of security: a Touch ID fingerprint scanner and a pin code. But both of these software and hardware elements have undergone changes. The fingerprint sensor now works faster: it cannot be said that this is some kind of radical change, but since you have to unlock the smartphone many times during the day, even a slight improvement in this parameter will affect the overall comfort of use.

We checked it - indeed, there is a difference. But to understand how often the scanner fails and whether the sensor improvements apply to this parameter, you need to use the iPhone for a while.

The second point is the pin code. Now it consists of six instead of four characters. This change is a double-edged sword. On the one hand, Apple encourages all users to set up Touch ID as quickly as possible, which, in theory, should increase security. On the other hand, now the temptation to make a pin code like 111111 or 123456 is much higher, because remembering four random digits is possible, but six is already difficult (it is no coincidence that the standard of pin codes for plastic cards assumes exactly four digits). But if you wish, you can find in the settings the ability to change the pin code to the usual four-character one.

Performance

The iPhone 6s runs on the Apple A9 SoC, built using the 14nm process technology. The SoC is manufactured by Samsung. Apple traditionally does not provide almost any technical details, only claiming that the new CPU is faster by 70%, and the GPU by 90%.

According to various sources (including the official Apple website), the single-chip system includes a dual-core 64-bit CPU based on ARMv8-A architecture, a six-cluster PowerVR 7XT series GPU (presumably GT7600) and an Apple M9 motion coprocessor, which is now integrated to the SoC itself.

According to Apple, this allows the coprocessor to be more energy efficient and always available to Siri, making contactless Siri launch possible. It is enough to say “Hey Siri!” when the smartphone is just lying on the table, and Siri will start. In order for this to work correctly, you need to say “Hey Siri!” several times during the initial setup of the iPhone so that the smartphone learns your voice, and then there will be no problems. No matter how many times we tried to activate Siri in this way, it always worked without problems. True, between the pronunciation of the phrase and the inclusion of the device takes about a second and a half.

Let's compare the performance of the iPhone 6s with the iPhone 6, and in the multi-platform benchmarks, we will add one of the most powerful Android smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge +, to the comparison. If there is a dash in some fields of the tables below, this smartphone has not been tested in this mode/benchmark.

Let's start with browser tests: SunSpider 1.0.2, Octane Benchmark and Kraken Benchmark. We will also add to our standard set - a new browser benchmark recommended by the creators of SunSpider as a replacement for it. We used the Safari browser on iOS devices, and Chrome on the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+.

The results are eloquent: the Apple iPhone 6s outperforms its predecessor by one and a half to two times, and the Android competitor simply does not leave a chance (note the almost fourfold difference in the Kraken Benchmark!).

Now let's see how the iPhone 6s performs in Geekbench 3, a multi-platform benchmark that measures CPU and RAM performance.

But here the results are much more contradictory. In multi-core mode, it was the Samsung smartphone that turned out to be the leader (although its lead over the iPhone 6s is not so great, albeit undeniable), and in single-core mode, both Apple smartphones are ahead, and the iPhone 6s overtakes the iPhone 6 by about one and a half times.

The last group of benchmarks is dedicated to testing GPU performance. We used 3DMark, GFXBench, as well as the new Basemark Metal benchmark, created specifically for Metal-enabled devices. In the case of the iPhone 6 and 6s, GFXBench Metal was used (a benchmark option optimized for Metal devices), on the Samsung smartphone, the regular version of GFXBench 3.0.

Recall that Offscreen tests are a display of a 1080p image on the screen, regardless of the actual screen resolution. And Onscreen tests are the output of a picture in the resolution that corresponds to the screen resolution of the device. That is, Offscreen tests are indicative in terms of the abstract performance of the SoC, and Onscreen tests are indicative of the comfort of the game on a specific device.

Apple iPhone 6s
Apple iPhone 6
(Apple A8)
Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+
(Exynos 7420)
GFXBenchmark Manhattan (Onscreen) 44.3 fps 29.4 fps -
GFXBenchmark Manhattan (1080p Offscreen) 40.4 fps 17.8 fps -
GFXBenchmark T-Rex (Onscreen) 39.9 fps 51.2 fps 37 fps
GFXBenchmark T-Rex (1080p Offscreen) 82.3 fps 42.7 fps 57 fps

So, the leader is obvious. In Manhattan's latest and most GPU-challenging scene, iPhone 6s delivers more than enough performance for a comfortable gaming experience. The absolute gain for the iPhone 6 is about two times. The less GPU-intensive T-Rex scene demonstrates the superiority of the iPhone 6s over the Samsung flagship, both in Onscreen mode (which is quite logical given the much more modest screen resolution of the iPhone 6) and in Offscreen mode. There is, however, one oddity: it is not clear why the iPhone 6 showed fewer frames in the Onscreen mode than in the Offscreen mode, although it should be the other way around. We tested this several times, but the result was the same every time.

Next test: 3DMark. Here we are only interested in the Unlimited mode, because in other modes these devices exceed the maximum.

Here, the superiority of the iPhone 6s over the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge + is minimal, and both flagship smartphones confidently overtake the no longer flagship iPhone 6.

Finally - Basemark Metal. Since this benchmark is made specifically for Apple devices, there is no Samsung smartphone in the table.

And here the results were even more advantageous for the iPhone 6s. While the test scene was displayed, there was a frame per second counter in the upper left corner. In the case of the iPhone 6, it showed 11-12 fps, in the case of the iPhone 6s - 30-35 fps. Considering that even the iPad Air 2, Apple's most powerful tablet at the moment (before the release of the iPad Pro), had 9-10 fps, we can say that the iPhone 6s is the most productive Apple device in three-dimensional graphics. Below are screenshots of the Basemark Metal scene from the iPhone 6 (top) and iPhone 6s (bottom).

In general, Apple's promises regarding the increase in performance of the iPhone 6s compared to the iPhone 6 turned out to be true. And often even more modest than the real result. The Apple A9 sets new standards in mobile 3D graphics performance and seems to outperform not only Apple devices but also Android competitors, despite their more attractive specs.

Work in Wi-Fi and LTE networks

The smartphone will work in almost all LTE networks. In this version, Apple has implemented the widest possible support for LTE bands - 23 bands. That is, you can safely buy it in another country (provided that it is not locked to a specific operator) and at the same time be sure that it will be fully functional with us in terms of communication capabilities. The same goes for traveling to another country. However, already the iPhone 6 was doing very well with this.

More importantly, the iPhone 6s is the first Apple smartphone to support LTE Advanced (Cat.6). This standard allows you to download data at speeds up to 300 Mbps, while for conventional LTE (Cat.4) this parameter is limited to 150 Mbps. Apple claims that Internet connection speeds via LTE and Wi-Fi have doubled.

In Russia, LTE Advanced (LTE +) networks have appeared relatively recently: first of all, this is Moscow, and even then not everywhere, and then only at Beeline and Megafon (MTS is in the process of network deployment).

As for Wi-Fi, Apple also promises a twofold increase in speed here. The novelty supports all modern Wi-Fi standards, including 802.11ac 5 GHz, but we could not notice and prove the improvement in the quality of the Internet connection compared to the iPhone 6 (which also supports the same standards).

The iPhone 6s implements a curious technology that allows you to “maintain” an Internet connection using cellular networks with weak Wi-Fi. It is not entirely clear why use weak Wi-Fi then, if there is a faster 3G / LTE, and besides, this can lead to uncontrolled traffic spending, since the smartphone itself determines whether Wi-Fi is weak and can start at any time. use of LTE. Imagine a situation when you are trying to watch a video over Wi-Fi in a cafe, but this Wi-Fi is actually weak and does not pull video, so the smartphone starts using an LTE connection, but you do not know about it - the Wi-Fi icon is on ! As a result, you watch a video, thinking that it is coming over Wi-Fi, but in fact you are using cellular data. By default, this feature is enabled (see the screenshot below for "Wi-Fi Assistance"), so we recommend disabling it to avoid unexpected charges.

Note that the iPhone 6s, like its predecessor, supports "hot" installation and replacement of the SIM card (without rebooting).

New features and software

Though operating system iOS 9 is also available on the previous generation of Apple smartphones, a number of software features are available only on the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. The main one is, of course, 3D Touch, a new way to interact with a touch screen.

What are we talking about? Recall the Force Touch technology in the new MacBook Pro 13″ and MacBook 12″, as well as in smart watch Apple watch. When pressed, the device responds not only to the duration of the touch (as previously on the iPhone and iPad), but also to the force of pressing. A stronger (deeper) pressing causes a different action than a weaker one. In the case of the iPhone 6s, the manufacturer decided to call it 3D Touch.

If we forcefully press on some application icons, a menu will open right on the main screen next to this icon. The content of the menu depends on the specific application. The screenshots below are a few examples.

3D Touch works not only "outside", but also "inside" applications. For example, in an email client, you can use it to preview the letter (the window with the contents of the letter, as it were, on top of the rest), and if at the moment when the preview opens, swipe up without releasing your finger, then we will see the answer options. The same is true for SMS.

Another interesting application of 3D Touch is turning the keyboard into a trackpad. We open any application where you can call the keyboard, make a deep press anywhere on the keyboard - and the letters / numbers on the buttons disappear, and a cursor appears at the input point that can be moved. Theoretically, this can be very convenient when working with mail.

However, we do not undertake to unequivocally state that 3D Touch greatly facilitates the use of a smartphone. Let's say if you want to take a selfie using 3D Touch, then you first need to make this deep press on the camera icon, and then select "Selfie" in the menu that opens, and after that - press the capture button. In total there are three steps. But the same can be done by simply clicking on the camera icon, clicking on switching to the front camera and then pressing the shutter. It turns out, too, three actions! And almost any scenario for using 3D Touch can be replaced with a similar traditional one, which, at the same time, is no more difficult and no longer. The only place we found real use for 3D Touch was in Maps. We press by deep pressing on any object on the map - and we see information about this object (without 3D Touch, this information could be seen after two actions: first - clicking on the object, then - on the arrow meaning "More").

Another hardware and software innovation borrowed from the Apple Watch is Taptic Engine feedback. You can feel it when using 3D Touch, that is, it notifies you that the smartphone has recognized a deep press. But so far it seems that the Apple Watch this function is still much more needed.

The last innovation that we will talk about in this section is “live wallpapers”. This is something like gifs that are activated by a long press, that is, a cross between dynamic and static wallpapers. It is useless, but it looks beautiful and pleases at first.

Interestingly, such wallpapers can be made independently using the iPhone 6s camera. But we will talk about this in the second part of the article. There you will also find detailed testing of the screen and camera of the iPhone 6s, as well as the results of measuring the duration of battery life.

Hello! A new iPhone model comes out every year and Apple strictly adheres to this rule. However, "once a year" is too vague, don't you think? Therefore, I propose today to find out the exact release date of absolutely all existing iPhone models. Collect, so to speak, all these numbers in one place.

What for? Firstly, it is always interesting to trace how much time passes from the moment of the presentation to the moment of the start of sales in Russia and the world. Secondly, such a cheat sheet can be useful to many (to me, as the author of a blog about Apple, for sure :)). Third, why not? Content, in my opinion, useful - so be it. Go!

For a better understanding, all information is presented in the table. A little explanation:

  • Date of start of sales in the world - the "world" refers to the countries of the so-called "first wave" (USA, European countries, etc.)
  • The start date of sales in Russia is the start of sales of certified (PCT) iPhones.
  • The iPhone 2G was not sold “legally” in Russia, and the 3G model became the first official iPhone in the Russian Federation (a little more about this).

As you can see, the increase in Apple's loyalty to our country is very clearly visible. The timing of the appearance of gadgets in Russia, compared with the global start of sales, decreased every year. And by the exit of the "six" reached its climax. The difference was only a week!

For comparison, the official iPhone 3GS appeared in Russia almost 9 months later! At this time, the whole world was already waiting for the "four" :)

And my opinion is that everything was going to ensure that this year Russia was included in the list of those countries where "apple" devices appear first. However, this did not happen and we all know why:

  • Dollar instability.
  • Great prices.
  • Low buying activity.

Well, let's wait and see, and perhaps, just for the iPhone 7th model, a line with two identical numbers in the last two columns will be added to the table at the top :)

Updated! Well, with regards to the iPhone 7, miracles of course did not happen, but Russia still got into the “second wave” of sales. In Russia, a brand new smartphone from Apple will appear just a week later than in the countries of the "first wave". And this is very good! After all, the point is that starting with the iPhone 7S, our country should be among those who will receive it very first.

Updated 2! Preliminary data (which are known immediately after the presentation) on the release of the iPhone 8 and iPhone X have been added to the table. At the moment, opinions differ only about the G8 - will Russia be among the countries of the "first wave"? Or will iPhone 8 sales in Russia start a week later than in the rest of the world? Let's wait for more accurate information ... We waited. Still a week later. But Russia got into the "first wave" of iPhone X sales - it's very cool!

Updated 3! Data on the release date of the iPhone XS and iPhone XR has been added to the plate. As for the most advanced iPhone XS, Russia again fell into the “second wave of sales”. The novelty will be delivered to the Russian Federation a week later than to the countries of the “first wave”. It's okay, we'll survive somehow :) But sales of the iPhone XR in Russia begin simultaneously with the rest of the world - October 26, 2018. Normul!

Updated 4! Added release dates for iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max. Well ... we can all be congratulated! Now, in order to buy a new iPhone among the very first, a Russian lover of "apples" does not have to go to another country. Official sales of the iPhone 11 in Russia will start simultaneously with the rest of the world. Hooray, comrades! :)

Already on sale on RosKeys. Protect your brand new Apple 6s smartphone from the first day of purchase. Preserving the beauty and functionality of the device is very simple - all you need to do is buy an iPhone case. Come and choose protective accessories for iPhone 6s and 6s plus!

Everyone has long been accustomed to the fact that every year Apple releases an even more advanced model of its offspring. So 2015 promises us three new incarnations of the iPhone 6 at once. The fans of this brand have not had time to get used to the new functions of the iPhone 6, as you should already think about buying a new “apple” device with even more advanced features.

So, this year the iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus and iPhone 6s mini will enter the arena. All new items will receive an additional letter in the name, as happened with their predecessors (iPhone 3GS, 4S and 5S).

What will be the smartphone Apple iPhone 6S - remains a mystery. Here are just a few of the facts that we managed to find out.

Appearance

The look of the new version of the iPhone will be similar to its 2014 version. Smooth lines, shape, perhaps even colors - everything will remain the same. There are versions about new colors, but they have not yet received confirmation from an official source. We were able to find a few photos of the iPhone 6S that illustrate how versatile the changes can be, even though the shape remains the same. All photos are iPhone 6S concepts, which, however, may not look like any of them when we see it with our own eyes.

release date

The release date of the Apple iPhone 6S is likely to be announced at the presentation, which will take place on September 9, 2015 at the Apple conference in San Francisco.

Specifications

Information about the characteristics of the new flagship from Apple, we literally collected bit by bit. Summing up a common denominator under all the data found, one can express only rumors, but not facts.

The A8 processor will be replaced by an updated 1.4 GHz A9 chip, which will become the "heart" of the iPhone 6s. These processors are already being manufactured by TSMC, which uses a state-of-the-art 16-nanometer process in their manufacture, which makes the chips more powerful, energy efficient and at the same time very compact.

Internal memory will increase from 1 GB to 2 GB. Memory of this volume was planned back in the 6th version of the iPhone, but, apparently, it was saved for the updated device.

The home button will look like a joystick. A photo of a patented button device has been published online, which can be quite useful during games.

Camera resolution will remain the same - 8 megapixels. However, it will receive advanced photo processing technology. The iPhone is designed for maximum convenience for selfies. More details about in our review.

Updated Trinity

As mentioned above, three versions of the iPhone 6S will see the light of day. The approach to 6S and 6S Plus is immediately clear - most likely, they will receive the same inches as the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. A separate item is the smartphone iPhone 6S mini. It is tipped to replace the fading iPhone 5C, the production of which the company from Cupertino plans to stop in the next six months. The mini version will replace it with Qualcomm budget components. The display will receive a 4-inch format. The rounded shape and streamlined edges make the iPhone 6S mini look like an iPhone 6.

In conclusion of the above, it will not be superfluous to repeat that all this information is currently assumptions and rumors. But what characteristics the new gadget will receive, we will be able to find out only when the iPhone 6S smartphone is released. So far, numerous Apple fans are just getting used to the relatively new iPhone 6. Roscase offers a wide selection of high-quality and original ones from licensed brands with a worldwide reputation.

It is possible that the parameters of the new device will correspond to the size of the 6th version of the smartphone - and the case for the iPhone 6 is quite suitable for the updated version. If you prefer the compact 6S mini to this "giant", then you will have to purchase a new protective accessory for it.

The iPhone 6S, introduced by Apple on September 9, 2015, has become an almost complete copy of its predecessor, the iPhone 6. What a pity. After all, this time the brand's fans were waiting for changes in design, it seemed, much more than a new powerful processor, an improved camera and other iron upgrades.

Although, frankly, the six was not so bad, it just was not a spectacular enough end to the era of sharp iPhones with small format displays. The last time Apple decided to drastically change the style of i-smartphones, there was a flawless iPhone 4, and, in fact, you can open the era of new design only with something flawless. But the iPhone 6 was not. And okay, it’s quite possible to forgive less sharp forms (in the end, something needs to be changed) and a larger screen (the market still requires it), but a camera protruding from the case and unaesthetic antenna strips are absolutely nowhere no good.

Of course, when Tim Cook took the stage with the iPhone 6S, the twin brother of the six, the fans sighed in dismay. However, here's the paradox - after his presentation, the request "Start of sales of the iPhone 6S smartphone" seems to have broken through the historical maximum. What's the secret? And the fact is that in addition to classically [iron] improvements, the i-smartphone with the 6S index has acquired a new very cool 3D Touch technology. AND! Apple has finally changed the main camera sensor from 8 to 12 megapixels, and the first one has always served - iPhone 4S, 5, 5S, 5C, 6 and 6 Plus!

Start of sales

Fortunately, sales were not long in coming. The release date of the iPhone 6S in Russia was announced at the end of September, the significant day fell on October 9, 2015. But our country got into the second wave of sales. That is, in the Russian Federation they did not yet know when we would have a new flagship, and some regions were already using the iPhone 6S with might and main, because the release date of the first wave is September 25, 2015.

How much is opium for the people today?

However, no less than the release date of the iPhone 6S in Russia, our users were interested in the price of the smartphone, and, of course, in the conditions of the dollar jump, it was indecently high. Depending on the model, it ranged from 57,000 rubles to 84,000 rubles. The most “affordable” was the iPhone 6S with a 4.7-inch display and 16 GB of internal memory, the most luxurious 6S Plus with a 5.5-inch display and 128 GB of storage.

However, at the same time, the previous iPhone models began to sell on average 5-7 thousand cheaper. So the release of the iPhone 6S was great news not only for those fans who have long dreamed of a new sensor in the camera, but also for those who have long wanted to get a six or even a 5S. The new flagship did not have time to come out, and the old models have already become more accessible.

To change or not to change, that is the question

Every time a new Apple smartphone comes out, users of the previous version ask - should I change last year's flagship or is the new one not much different from what I have? As a rule, between models with the same numerical index, the differences are, however, not great - neither in design, nor in hardware. Did that law work for a pair of iPhone 6/6S? In terms of looks, yes. For the rest, see for yourself...

Push me harder

iPhone 6S has got a cool new 3D Touch technology, which we mentioned at the beginning of the article. And this innovation is really radical, it actually changes the idea of management mobile device. 3D Touch makes the smartphone react differently to different levels of pressure.

Do you want to write a letter? To do this, now you don’t need to first open the Mail application, and then look for the appropriate option, just make a longer tap on the program and an additional menu will appear, from which, in particular, you can quickly proceed to sending a message. And this is just one example, the technology is supported by all native applications and already by many third-party services.

Not happiness in megapixels ... or in them?

Yes, no one argues - Apple was able to prove to everyone that happiness is not in megapixels - an 8 megapixel sensor served four generations of i-smartphones - it is in both 4S and iPhone 6. But the pictures of one and the other model cannot be compared - it's just heaven and earth. What's the secret? Yes, a lot! From generation to generation, the aperture ratio of the lens has improved, the pixel size has increased, the software algorithms for processing the frame have improved, etc.

However, at some point, Apple realized that it squeezed everything it could out of the 8-megapixel sensor and changed it to 12 megapixels. The honor to try it on was given to the iPhone 6S first, so is it worth saying that it produces noticeably cooler shots than the six? Throw in a new flash and more advanced "post-processing" technologies. By the way, not only the main camera has become more megapixel, but also the front camera - 5 megapixels in 6S versus 1.2 megapixels in the six!

Oh, and the iPhone 6S also “learned” how to take so-called “live photos”, they are a kind of GIF animation. To create such a thing, you need to go into a special camera mode and press the corresponding button, and the resulting short video can be put, for example, as a screensaver. That is, the splash screen can now be dynamic.

And finally, the long-awaited opportunity to take 4K video shots appeared in the 6S.

A9 vs. A8

Of course, the iPhone 6S, as befits a new flagship, received a more powerful main processor - A9 and an auxiliary one - M9, while the six runs on a "pair" - A8 / M8. You can sing a lot of praises about how much cooler the first one is, but neither at the time of release, nor even now, there is not much difference for the user in performance. However, in a couple of years, when iOS will acquire a bunch of new options, the iPhone 6S will noticeably break away from the six in terms of speed, and this will become obvious.

I look at you like in a mirror

But in terms of display, the new flagship practically does not differ from its predecessor - neither in the main parameters on the “paper”, such as resolution, pixel density, contrast, color depth, etc., nor in real perception. Of course, if you look for differences for a long time, you can find them, but by and large, both displays are great.

Stand the day, hold out the night

We won’t talk about the autonomy of the iPhone 6 and 6S for a long time, because even taking into account, as Apple assures, various energy saving mechanisms used in the latter, the battery life of both smartphones is approximately the same. What can I say, any flagship today in active use pulls a maximum of a day without recharge.

Such important little things

It is also worth noting that the iPhone 6S is available in two new colors - gold and pink, while the six is available only in silver and gray. In addition, the former can be purchased in the 128 GB model, while the latter is not available. Well, one more thing - the second generation Touch ID is used in the 6S, which reacts to the print noticeably faster.

Outcome

Well, there are indeed differences between the iPhone 6 and 6S. But there are only two significant differences - the camera and 3D Touch. Performance can be neglected if you are one of those who changes an Apple smartphone every 2-3 years (and even more often). Until the performance difference becomes apparent, buy yourself a new one. Well, since we discard such a significant variable, other differences can also be reduced to zero.

What is the dry residue? But what - if you think that the camera is the main thing in a modern flagship (because Instagram, likes and all that), then for you the difference between 6 and 6S will be global. Not a fan of mobile photography? Then you won't even notice it! Although, of course, a more convenient way to control the device using 3D Touch is very attractive.

Apple has just unveiled the new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. The latest Apple phones are better in almost every way.

First, a new color has been added - rose gold. The device received an updated front glass, which is the strongest on the market.

But the most impressive innovation in the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus is 3D Touch. From now on, the device, due to a special layer in the display, recognizes the force of pressing the screen, which allows developers to create completely new mobile interfaces. Each application has a set of functions for quick access using 3D Touch. And yes, this feature allows developers to take a completely different look at the controls in games.

The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are equipped with the A9 processor, and the graphics chip is new to 90% of the previous generation iPhone manufacturers. Apple is increasingly telling us that their devices provide console-level performance.

The sub-processor has been updated to be an M9, the Touch ID sensor has also received an update, and Siri works all the time.

The camera on the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus is 12 megapixels and still sticks out of the phone's body. Autofocus is even faster and more accurate, and new diode separation technology reduces image noise. This technology is really impressive and allows you to take even more impressive photos with excellent color reproduction. Great pictures will be obtained even in the dark.

The camcorder allows you to shoot video in 4K resolution, and the resolution of the front is now 5 megapixels.

A new Live Photos feature has been added, which is nothing more than just a short video.

The speed of LTE has increased to 300 megabits per second. The device supports almost all existing frequency ranges of all used communication standards.

Prices for the new iPhone 6s are 16GB $199, 64GB $299 and 128GB $399; iPhone 6s Plus 16GB $299, 64GB $399 and 128GB $499.

The start of sales in the US will take place on September 25. The release of iOS 9 is scheduled for September 16th. The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s will be available in 130 countries by the end of the year.
