Sim with nfc support. Another payment method using NFC SIM cards from well-known operators. Description of Mobile Ticket Service

Cellular communication operators (MTS PJSC, Megafon PJSC, VimpelCom PJSC), Briz Technologies LLC, Moscow Metro State Unitary Enterprise (Metropolitan), Mosgortrans State Unitary Enterprise participate in the process of providing the service.

The Mobile Ticket service allows you to pay for travel on all types of transport in the city of Moscow (ground urban passenger transport, metro and Aeroexpress). The fare is similar to the Wallet ticket on the Troika transport card, you can find it on the website. Replenishment of the transport application placed on the NFC SIM-card occurs by transferring funds from the mobile phone account to the transport application. Fare is paid with one touch of the phone to the validator of the transport operator.

The Mobile Ticket service is available to Subscribers, individuals, with a prepaid settlement system, who have entered into an agreement for the provision of communication services with a mobile operator.

To use the service, you must:

    Mobile phone with NFC technology * , if the phone model has two or more SIM cards, then you need to insert the SIM card into the first slot of the mobile phone;

    NFC * SIM-card with activated service "Mobile ticket";

availability of the Mobile Payments service.

* NFC (Near field communication) is a short-range wireless high-frequency communication technology that allows the exchange of data between devices located at a distance of about 10 centimeters.

Service connection cost.

Service connection fee and fee for exchanging valid SIM cards for SIM cards with NFC technology not charged.

    Attach the mobile phone with the back cover, the place where the NFC chip is located;

Touch the mobile phone to the validator with the screen on or off.

Service shutdown.

There was a lot of talk on this topic, even more brakes, but the breakthrough has finally come true: the Troika universal transport card can now be right in your smartphone.

From September 4 MTS, MegaFon and Beeline, together with the Moscow Metro and the Department of Transport, have launched the Mobile Ticket service.

To feel these fruits of civilization you will need:

  1. Smartphone with NFC
  2. Special SIM card.

More:

  1. The NFC module uses short-range wireless high-frequency communication technology that facilitates the exchange of information between devices (see Wikipedia). An example of using NFC for payment: an NFC smartphone as a bank card. Not all smartphones support NFC, but very many, especially mid-range and high-end ones. By the way, in the iPhone, the NFC module for Russia is programmatically blocked, the company offers to purchase a special unblocking antenna (very funny).
  2. You need to get a SIM card with a special chip for NFC support in the salon of your telecom operator (now - MTS, MegaFon, Beeline). Replacing yours with a new one is free. The main thing is that one is available, and the salon employee understands you, which happens far from often. Moreover, in theory, he should explain to you her work, including all the numbers. This SIM card works in the same way as Troika.

By inserting a new SIM card into your smartphone and remembering to enable NFC in it, you can then simply touch the phone to the subway turnstile. In this case, the fare will be read, and you, as usual, will be allowed inside the subway. You don't need to install any apps for this.

Funds are debited from the balance of the passenger's mobile phone in the same way as the rates of the Troika card or from the account of a plastic card linked to it.

If the balance of your Troika ticket drops from 150 to 90 rubles, it will auto-replenish to the original amount. Auto payment can also be disabled by switching to manual payment via SMS (by sending a message to the short number 3210, there is no commission).

The disadvantage of the current implementation of Troika is that travel cards cannot be registered on it yet. This feature will appear in the future. At the moment, you can pay by phone only for a "single trip" - for 30 rubles. By the way, by purchasing a simple card for 60 trips at the Metropolitan box office, you can reduce the price of a trip to 23 rubles.

If your smartphone is completely discharged, you can still use it to pay for one trip. If your phone with a pass was stolen, the ticket (unlike the usual Troika) can be blocked along with the SIM card, and then you can get it again and absolutely free of charge at the operator’s office along with the usual phone number.

"Mobile ticket" in another application

"Troika" - both in its usual form and in your smartphone - works not only in the subway. You can also use it to pay on Aeroexpress or to enter the Moscow Zoo. True, by the way, for those who wish to visit this interesting institution: now a ticket to the zoo of the capital costs 400 rubles. on weekdays and 500 on weekends. Free for students and children. Relax and don't deny yourself anything!

"Mobile ticket" in Russia

The Mobile Ticket service, new to Moscow, has been operating in some other cities of Russia for a long time. In Kazan - since 2013, in St. Petersburg - since 2014.

Dear first users of "Mobile Ticket" in the Moscow Metro! We kindly ask you to write about your impressions of the service in the comments below or on our forum.

In the metropolitan region, MTS is launching the Troika Mobile Ticket transport service, it will be possible to get rid of an extra card in a purse or wallet. And also forget about the need to replenish the balance of the transport card. Interesting project, we will try.

Attention! There were some very important clarifications to the text. Read the UPDATE section at the end.

"Telephone Troika"

The essence of the project is a special SIM-card with an application recorded on it with a Troika ticket. You can replace a regular SIM card with a special one for free in the Moscow MTS store. Not in any, in Moscow there will be about a dozen such salons “with NFC support”, the address of the nearest one will be prompted in the contact center.

The balance of Troika is replenished automatically from the balance of the phone, the NFC module of the smartphone is used to pay for travel. If there is no NFC module in the phone, then you can purchase a special NFC antenna, which is installed under the cover on top of the battery, the price of the antenna is 10 rubles. If there is no NFC module, and the case is steel and / or non-separable, then you can ... Well, yes, you can replenish the usual Troika card in the same store, it’s also good, and it’s not so insulting that you came in vain.

Background

“Prescribing” a transport card in the phone to pay for travel with the possibility of replenishing the card account from the balance of the phone is a tempting and sought-after thing.

This is not the first attempt of its kind. For example, Beeline was pretty in St. Petersburg back in 2012, you can read our review. Unfortunately, after five months in the status of "commercial pilot", the project was curtailed in October 2012, you can read about it. Why did they turn? Perhaps technical or administrative problems. It could not “take off” due to some confusing procedure for pre-purchasing metro tickets from the balance of the phone, such systems should be as easy to use as possible. Otherwise, one cannot count on “nationwide popularity”. Quote from a review I wrote at the start of the project:

“If the system worked in the mode of automatically debiting money from the balance of the phone with each passage of the turnstile, then I would vote “yes” with my hands, feet and wallet. categorically and with ardent enthusiasm. The current implementation is also not bad, but I'm not sure about the upcoming national recognition.

The MTS project just implemented, if not a write-off from the balance sheet, but at least an automatic replenishment of Troika, so you will have to vote “for”, as promised three years ago. As for the project in St. Petersburg, in the process of developing all the mechanisms, valuable experience has certainly been accumulated. It is a pity that they did not want to use them in the future.

Advantages

The advantages are obvious. Cards are lost, forgotten, they run out of money at the most inopportune moment, etc. And the phone is always with us, the probability of forgetting it at home is small.

Despite the growing network of Troika top-up points, topping up your mobile phone balance is still easier and more convenient, there are many more top-up channels. And even if the Troika replenishment point is within walking distance, it is still an unnecessary action and an inevitable loss of time.

If in MTS with their “transport service” everything works as stated, then it will be easier and more convenient than buying and replenishing a Troika card. For most consumers, this is a weighty argument, although it is unusual to put the phone to the turnstile reader.

A separate topic is moving around the city with a child. "Headache" for mom, you have to keep and serve two "Troika", it is impossible to pay from one for two people at once. By stuffing the second "Troika" into the phone, you simplify your existence.

Why does MTS need this project? The question is interesting. There are no special financial benefits, no commission is charged for replenishing the Troika balance, and replacing a SIM card is free. And there is plenty of trouble with the new service. Just a matter of prestige and increasing customer loyalty? There is a certain benefit from the guaranteed transfer of all such subscribers to the status of "active", the minimum positive balance on the phone's balance is 10 rubles. Otherwise, the service will not work and the tram will not be allowed. And according to statistics, up to 15% of phones are registered in the network in a state of financial blocking, that is, with a zero balance. Finally, the “Troika” recorded on the SIM card provides identification of the passenger. As if transport cards were sold strictly upon presentation of a passport. I do not want to fall into conspiracy theories, but this may also be of interest to certain structures.

Finally, there are some savings, no need to pay 50 rubles. for the card itself. The most boring and meticulous can make themselves a “virtual Troika”, then completely “leave” the old regular one, then hand over the plastic to the metro ticket office and get their 50 rubles back.

How it works

I already wrote that if there is an NFC module in the smartphone, it is enough to replace the SIM card, in the absence of the module, you will have to go broke for 10 rubles. for the antenna. The application on the SIM card should activate itself, you will receive an SMS with a request that you need to answer. After that, from the balance of the phone 150 rubles. transferred to the Troika balance, and that's it, you can use it. But first you need to write down this amount on a virtual card at the metro station.

You already guessed that to pay, you need to put the phone “back” to the validator. You can pay for travel in the metro, monorail, trolleybus, tram and aeroexpress. According to the "one trip" or "90 minutes" scheme, switching occurs automatically. There is no need to describe all the features and functionality here, for those who are not yet familiar with this product there is a special site troika.mos.ru. Controllers in land transport will be surprised at first when they are presented with a smartphone, but this is a matter of habit.

Crediting money from the phone balance to Troika can occur with a delay of up to one hour. Replenishment of the Troika balance from the phone balance occurs automatically after debiting the amount of 60 rubles from the card. and more for trips. You can replenish your account manually by sending a free SMS to the short number 3210. SMS text (without brackets): , where 250 is an example of the amount of replenishment in rubles. Why do you need a "manual" mode? Probably, it may be necessary for “major purchases” (payment for Aeroexpress) or for those who are reluctant to “take a bite” every day at the terminal on the wall in front of the subway entrance. Unfortunately, the replenished balance of Troika still needs to be written down on a “virtual card” in the terminal at the metro station, and this is extremely inconvenient for those who use only surface transport. Or when the money on the card is over, and the first trip will be by bus. There's nothing to be done, with the usual "Troika" the same problem.

Peculiarities

It remains an open question whether it is possible to record TAT and United travel tickets on the Troika telephone. Offhand, when paying in cash according to the usual procedure, there should not be any special technical obstacles, but you need to check.

It is impossible to return money back from Troika to the phone balance. You can completely stop using Troika on your phone using the "Turn off" menu item in the Mobile Ticket application. But the procedure for getting the money left at Troika looks intriguing, a quote from the official description:

“In order to refund money from the Electronic Wallet ticket, you must contact the Passenger Agency of the State Unitary Enterprise Moscow Metro or its branch with a written application indicating the amount of money, the number of your personal account or bank card, as well as the details of the Bank. This application must be accompanied by a card on which the "Electronic Wallet" is recorded, details of the Bank with a seal.

That is, you get the details of your bank with a seal, go to the Krasnye Vorota metro station, write an application, hand over your smartphone with it and wait for the rest of the money to arrive in your bank account. Just kidding, of course, there is probably a separate procedure or they will come up with it. But a terrible hassle in any case. Initially, the rest of the money at Troika was not returned at all, then the case almost went to court, and formally the requirements of the law were observed. But they did it in such a way that no one wanted to use this opportunity.

The second content account for the "telephone Troika" is not a hindrance, the transport card is replenished from the main balance. Restrictions - no more than 10 payments per day, the maximum amount of payments - 15,000 rubles. per month.

Subscribers with a credit form of payment can use the "Telephone Troika". But subject to a positive balance on the balance sheet. That is, formally possible, but inconvenient: paid off the loan "with a margin", transferred the "reserve" to the "Troika" manually, enjoy the ride until the money on the "Troika" runs out.

Summary

If everything works as intended, then it's a good thing, it's for people, and not technology for the sake of technology itself, to the delight of individual enthusiasts. If it were not for manually registering at the replenishment terminal each time, it would be quite good.

UPDATE

It's great when they respond quickly to the publication. It is many times more beautiful to make a mistake in the "bad" direction and then correct this mistake with pleasure, the "vice versa" happens more often. This time everything is going well with you and the main disadvantage of the service is canceled. So:

There is no need to “butt” smartphones with scary yellow boxes in metro lobbies. Generally not needed. Replenishment of Troika from the balance of the MTS SIM card will take place, albeit not quite in real time, but without additional gestures of the subscriber. Nothing needs to be “validated” in the yellow box, everything works quietly and silently without any human intervention. I don’t know who and with whom was able to negotiate and push through such a decision, but the result is excellent and we are all happy together.

Well, I believed, ran to the operator to change the SIM card. Changed, connected the service, replenished the balance, I go so happy to the subway. I didn’t approach the turnstile right away, I decided to check the balance. Fortunately, on Arbatskaya, unlike Altufyevo, the terminal hangs. Working! Reads!

Happy I go to the turnstile, but he does not let me in. And the second does not let. And generally does not let any. Sausages him, the inscription "apply again" blinks, but stands to death. The attendants and the policeman look unkind. That is, it reads normally from the phone, but cannot write off. This is high technology. On the Troika website, you can also find a list of supported devices, of course, not the same as the previous one, but that's okay. The shit is that the department of transport, which cheerfully reports on the successes, forgot to tell us before buying a device at the price of a used Zhiguli that not everything is as smooth as it sings to us in its press releases.

Another thing that I don't understand at all, how can this be: Galaxy Edge is supported, but Galaxy Edge + is not. More precisely, I can come up with an explanation, but as a consumer, I absolutely do not understand, I do not want to understand, and I am absolutely sure that this should not be so. It is clear that with some kind of firmware they will fix the problem, but why not do this BEFORE the device enters the market? Today I downloaded another update - no, they didn't fix it.

The next morning I checked it on my Sony Z3 + dual - absolutely everything works: it reads the card, replenishes the electronic wallet, writes down tickets and, most importantly, lets me into the metro unquestioningly, regularly writing off thirty.

Yesterday, people wrote to me that a bunch of common phones do not support any of the listed services. With a huge number of smartphone models and all sorts of no-name devices, with constantly updated firmware, all these lists are meaningless and never fully correspond to reality. All this, with vigorous reports from the capital's officials, creates the impression of some kind of amazing mess, in which device manufacturers also take an active part.

P.S. The funny thing, but quite in the spirit of a mess, is that on the Mosgtrtrans website about paying by mobile or replenishing the universally accepted Troika - not a word at all. But there is a page about paying with PayPass cards, which is valid on as many as 6 (SIX) bus routes and nowhere else.

P.P.S. Muscovite readers, if you use or tried to use mobile transport services, please unsubscribe in the comments whether your phone reads the Troika card and whether it supports the Mobile Ticket.

How to find out how many trips are left

The number of trips is not limited. Each time you use your phone to pay for a fare, the amount charged by the Troika card tariff is deducted from your Mobile Ticket balance.

A contactless way to pay for purchases is probably a dream come true for most people. This also means that you do not need to carry bank cards with you, take them out at the checkout in the store, insert them into the terminal, frantically remember the PIN code, which at this very moment does not want to be remembered. No wallets lost in bags and pockets, or even forgotten at home. Smartphone only. A light touch of the terminal - and the payment is made.

Once upon a time, NFC equipment became a discovery. During the period of its appearance on the high-tech market, for the majority, these actions resembled science fiction. That is, by purchasing this small compact antenna, which could easily fit into a phone, it was possible to make life much easier for yourself by making payments and settlements with the magic movement of a smartphone.

It was only necessary to purchase an NFC antenna, a SIM card that supports this technology, and in any place equipped with contactless terminals, it was possible to pay without having any cards or money with you. The convenience was especially noticeable when paying for trips in public transport. Most people always have their phone in their hands. To buy a ticket, you just had to bring it to a special device - a validator.

At the moment, technologies have gone far ahead and the need for NFC equipment has simply disappeared, and such a rarity cannot be found in retail sales and the MTS online store, since all the necessary functions for contactless payment are already built into smartphones. But there are still people who own the antenna, and even use it, so information about the algorithm for using the device may be relevant. Also the antenna can still be purchased on a number of resources, for example on Aliexpress.

  1. This device was designed so that smartphone owners can make purchases and use services, while paying for them in a contactless way, thereby getting rid of the need to worry about forgetting a wallet or card.

  1. The antenna can be paired with almost any contactless terminal used throughout the world.
  2. An NFC device fits easily into a mobile phone, and does not affect either its appearance or the weight of the device.

Technical parameters of the device

The overall overall dimensions of the device are 106*23 mm, while the antenna itself is only 35*35 mm. The wire with which contact is established with the mobile device is no more than 45 mm long, which means that the NFC device can easily fit into most smartphones produced in the world at the moment.

It is only 0.7 mm thick, while its weight is 2.5 g. The antenna connector, which has 6 pins, is compatible with any SIM card.

The device is equipped with a reusable adhesive base, which will allow you to change its position at any time if it is not properly positioned in the phone.

The RF interface is rated at 13.56MHz, supports ISO14443 Type A/B as well as Mifare.

What you need to consider before starting work with the equipment:

In order for a phone equipped with NFC technology to be able to perform contactless transactions, the following must be considered:

  • The mobile must be compatible with the antenna;
  • It must contain a SIM card compatible with NFC technology.

How to install and prepare for operation:

  1. Carefully study the instructions.
  2. Installation should be easy, if there are difficulties, it is better to contact a specialist.
  3. Remove the equipment from the packaging.
  4. If damage is found, do not try to install it, if possible, then you should contact the seller or the service center.
  5. Next, you need to remove the protective film from the self-adhesive backing.
  6. Attach the NFC antenna to the surface of the SIM card.
  7. Then insert the SIM card into the slot.
  8. Then put the phone's battery back in place so that the second, square part of the antenna stays on top of it.
  9. Place the square on top of the battery.
  10. Put the cover back in place (probably worth mentioning that the phone cover must be removed to carry out manipulations, this number will not work with monolithic devices).

In general, everything, the phone is ready to use for contactless payments.

At one time, this technology helped out many users, contributing to the promotion of the contactless payment method to the masses. The fact that at the moment this method is not as relevant as before does not mean that it is not used. Many people are conservative and if they are used to something, they are not ready to give it up, even for the sake of technology.

A modern bank card is plastic, the content of which is data on a magnetic strip, or a chip built into it. This information allows you to identify the owner of the cash account and is actually the key to the user's current account. In the case of NFC payments, the information is stored in the RFID chip of the card, or, in this case, in the SIM card from the Mobile Wallet system. Thus, paying with a smartphone is almost the same as paying with a plastic card, except for the case when the card is in the wallet and the user's mobile phone is almost always in their hands.

Which operators issue SIM cards with an NFC chip?

A special SIM card with an NFC module allows you to pay for purchases with a touch using a mobile phone or smartphone. Bank card holders have a convenient opportunity to use the new contactless payment method using NFC technology. Thanks to a special nfc sim card
, which you can buy in the salons of Russian mobile operators: Megafon, MTS, Beeline and Tele 2.

MTS

MTS with PayPass technology is linked to your bank card account. This technology allows you to make payments with a touch using a mobile phone/smartphone. To use the MTS nfc sim card, you need a phone that supports this technology.

MTS network subscribers have the opportunity to pay for their purchases using the "one touch" method. Thanks to the Near Field Communication system, MTS network users can use their phone for fast and contactless payment at ticket terminals, retail outlets and businesses that accept MasterCard cards. When paying with a SIM card from MTS and a cell phone, data is exchanged between the PayPass banking application from MasterCard on the SIM card and the POS terminal. Further, the funds are debited from your account and the service is paid.

How to use:

Before using the “mobile wallet”, make sure that the device supports the technology and that NFC mode is activated in the device settings, in the “Wireless Connections” section.

Remember that when using SIM cards from MTS for making contactless payments, with phones in which the module is already present, installation of NFC antennas is not required.

Beeline

The method of contactless payment using a phone is already familiar to many. But not everyone is aware that you can pay in the same way in a store if the SIM card supports NFC - Near Field Communication technology. It differs from the usual one in that it has a microcircuit equipped with a special code.

How does NFC-SIM work?

A SIM card equipped with such a module allows its owner to pay for purchases using a contactless phone. The name of the technology is translated into Russian as "Near contactless communication". It follows that it works at a short distance, which is no more than 10 cm.

The main use of NFC is payment. But you can also transfer media files between devices, settings or contacts, as well as control access to various kinds of objects or services, where the NFC chip is used as a key.

Which operators issue SIM cards with an NFC chip?

Today, the main mobile operators have developed and offer users SIM cards with this technology.

MTS

To use this service with an MTS SIM card, the phone must support PayPass technology.

If this condition is met, then you need to go to the "Settings" section, select "Wireless Connections" there and then activate the NFC mode. If this module is present in the phone, then additional installation of an external antenna is not required.

Otherwise, you will have to splurge on an additional device.

IMPORTANT! NFC can be used for plastic cards of the MasterCard system.

Beeline

The Beeline NFC SIM card must, in addition to this function, support the Mobile Ticket service.

You will need to activate the SIM card and confirm your agreement with the terms of use of the service.

To this end, a message will be sent to the phone from 3210, which will contain detailed instructions for setting up.

Megaphone

To use the service on Megaphone, you need the phone to support this mode.

In addition, it must also support Mobile Ticket. Next, you need to register a SIM card.

To do this, you will receive an SMS message with a request to connect the service.

Tele 2

This operator also implies working with a similar SIM card if the Mobile Ticket application is installed on the phone.

It allows, in addition to paying for purchases and making transfers, to pay for trips in land transport and in the subway.

Yota

Cellular operator Yota also issues SIM cards with support for this technology.

In the same way as in the case of other operators, the subscriber's phone must support the technology.

The function is activated through "Settings" - "Wireless Connections", where you need to enable NFC mode. Otherwise, it is possible to connect an antenna.

REFERENCE. Yota produces NFC-enabled SIM cards in three main formats: regular, micro and nano.

How to use this service and where to buy a SIM card with an NFC module?

You can buy a SIM card at any mobile operator's salon. If you wish, you can not buy a new one with a different number, but change your old card for free for one equipped with a special chip.

NFC can be used for:

  • payment in stores;
  • replenishment of the account;
  • implementation of translations.

Installing and registering such a SIM card is quite simple. Any operator has a special master tuner who will give precise instructions during tuning. After this procedure, you need to link a bank plastic card.

The undoubted advantage of using such a card is that changing the phone in this case is very simple. Having bought a new device, you will not need to make the necessary settings. You just need to insert your SIM card into a new smartphone.

Conclusion

NFC technology– a convenient service for making contactless payments using your phone. A prerequisite is the presence of a similar chip in the device. If not, then you will have to purchase an external antenna. However, NFC is a relatively new offering in the mobile communications market. Therefore, before going to a mobile phone salon, it is better to first clarify if these SIM cards are on sale.
